Large joint ventures in Namangan region

Hyundai Automobile Plant to be built in Namangan

In the near future, the production of trucks and buses of the Hyundai brand will be launched in the Namangan region.

According to the project, the company will assemble trucks with carrying capacity from 1 to 50 tons, as well as intercity, international and tourist buses, special vehicles.

After commissioning, the plant will produce 1,000 cars per year. Within three years, their number will reach three thousand (two thousand trucks and one thousand buses). At the beginning, the parts will be imported from the Republic of Korea, but in three years the production of parts will be mastered here in stages.

About 100 jobs will be created, and in the future it is planned to bring them to six thousand.

Turakurgan TPP

The first power unit of the Turakurgan Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in the Namangan region will be commissioned in December 2019.

An international consortium of Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd signed a contract with Uzbekenergo JSC for the construction of two power units of the Turakurgan TPP in 2016. The contract amount was $ 749.43 million, the total cost of the project is up to 1.2 billion.

The partner of the consortium for the construction of a number of components is the Turkish Calik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret AS.

The project is financed by a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the amount of $ 704 million, a loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan - $ 300 million and own funds of Uzbekenergo.


Uztex Uchkurgan

The enterprise includes the Uztex Uchkurgan and Uchkurgan textile factories, which specializes in the production of cotton yarn, cotton yarn, linen and ready-made products.

Nearly $ 120 million has been invested in the construction of this complex, which occupies an area of 16 hectares, with the purchase of new modern technologies and equipment.

The complex is capable of manufacturing 16,500 tons of yarn and 7,000 tons of linen a year, with more than 1,000 new jobs created. Most importantly, the annual export potential of the company is $ 50 million.
